The First Chapter: I’m New At This
I am nervous, but very thrilled, to finally “open doors” to E. M. Wilson Studio. If you’ve followed my journey so far, you know that its been a long road to say the least. In my defense it is not always the easiest venture to open one’s self up to the world of the internet. But, I’ve finally done it, with the help of many, plus the encouragement and support from my family and friends. So, here we are. Whether I’m layering paint onto canvas, biting my fingernails during an exhibition, or designing art inspired gifts I think you’ll enjoy, I’m still just an artist who is entirely grateful for the positivity and support that comes from you. I am also deeply grateful for the constructive criticism many have provide to help me improve the site and services to you. Now and in the future, my goal will always be the same: to create original art and art inspired goods that remind you of the important details of life.
Why Start a Blog?
For years, my art has lived in the corners of my room or on the walls of the wonderful humans who have purchased them. But art is about more than just a piece to sell or a piece that matches the furniture. It’s also about the process, the stories, and the intent behind every mark. Its about what YOU feel when you look at it. Its about looking at something and feeling a connection with the subject in a way that may change you, or cause you to think a bit differently. I’m starting a blog because my personality naturally wants to explain things, especially art things. I want a space where I can:
Share the "Behind-the-Scenes": Take you into the studio to see my process, how my artwork develops, and the what and whys of it all.
Explore Inspirations: Discuss the influences that fuel my work.
Connect with You: This isn’t just a portfolio, it’s an invitation to a conversation. I want to hear your stories, how art brings joy to your own life, and your opinions about art.
What to Expect
In the coming weeks, look forward to posts about my latest commissioned portraits, deep dives into inspirations, and sharing of art news or events.
Thank you for being part of this. I can’t wait to share this art journey with you.
Warmly,
Erin Wilson
